1. Have a frank discussion with your manager. It's possible your excellent and helpful suggestions are coming at a "wrong" time in the process os some other misunderstanding. See what supervisor has to say. Ask about growth opportunities and your trajectory at the firm. Ask for a mid-cycle review.
2. Change jobs. A paralegal skillset is valuable. Go to where it is valued, and you are appreciated and paid for it.
Bide your time and move along. This is not a case of a rose by other name... Clearly you’re being under utilized and feeling unchallenged. Are you getting paralegal pay for LA work? What’s the rationale for the title? They wanted an LA and it sounds like they want you to stay in that lane. I’m an optimist, but not sure a conversation is going to yield better results, especially if multiple people do not value your expertise.
You already know what you need to do. We spend too much time at work to feel like it is about nothing more than the paycheck. I hope you find a home that will encourage your professional growth.
I had a similar issue with a job. I was promised paralegal work but ended up doing mainly admin work and flight scheduling for attorneys. I was more of a personal assistant than I was working on legal documents. I found a new job and love it!
I hope you find a good paralegal job very soon. They don’t deserve you. Good luck.
P.S. Good luck!
