Are puns always bad? I like them as cheat codes for making boring things slightly more entertaining. I don’t want to spend hours thinking for a line for a social post we are just doing to fill up a content calendar

Puns make writing social copy and other mindless low-level assignments way more fun. Puns r gr8.

If it works in one sense and not the other, then it’s cheap. If if it works on 2 or 3 levels that make sense in context, it’s smart.

100%.

Cheap puns are worthless to me, but a good pun that ties two distinct ideas together is gold, imo.

When you discover advertising is 75% puns…

Yes. Bad.

Porkpective is swine with me.

Depends on industry space the brand is in, and then it depends on the buyer persona, platform and on the overarching campaign (is it a funny/humorous = fun light hearted humor, or a more B2B tonality.)

Mix those up and PUNishment is on the way

Didn’t something called Cantroller win awards recently? And Cantenna? There have been many other “puns are sometimes okay” exceptions through the years. They will always come off as a bit lazy, but can be fairly clever. Those “can” ones were kinda puns in word and form, which is kinda fun.

Puns can be good if you can write comedy. If you have that knack, do it. Most of these cats can’t. Don’t listen if you can.

Puns rock

I’ve been with my current company for a little over 5 years now and since the start of the pandemic have been WFH. I absolutely love WFH and have always wanted a position in which I could WFH. There is talk of bringing everyone back to the office full time and that’s not what I would like to happen. I’ve been searching for a new position in which it would be a remote role. My current company also said I am maxed out in term of what they are willing to pay salary wise.
