Are you seeing budget cuts, reduced staffing, and bigger caseloads in your schools? We have more students with needs than ever before but we are being told to basically do the minimum to ensure that the students are progressing, and provide service that checks boxes legally, but we as educators know that what we are doing is not best practice- like larger groups during pull out SLP sessions, 1/2 day programming for preschoolers who would make more gains in full day, dismantling of co-teaching..

Yep. My job this year is the job that 2.5 teachers would share my first year in the district. I’m burnt out. I have barely enough time to plan and absolutely 0 time in my day for sped paperwork. Common planning time with the gen Ed teachers im expected to coteach with? That’s hilarious!

Not to the same extent as you, but yes we are seeing budget cuts. Our high school let a special ed teacher go last year and the two remaining teachers have absorbed the students. In the transition program I work in they're really trying to cut back on para hours. Plus the new laws of student staying until 22 years old have really changed things. Making our classes bigger but with no more resources for the students.

Had my first egg retrieval a few weeks ago. Still trying to comprehend what happened. All my ultrasounds and blood work came back perfect. In the end, I had 30 follicles and they were only able to retrieve 3 eggs. Our embryologist said my egg quality was very poor and one had been dead for a long time. None of my tests ever indicated any issues. I have tested my egg reserve twice and everything came back normal. Any thoughts/advice? I’m really at a loss for words.

I don’t know about you, but this year, I want to get better at having a work/life balance. I love having the time in the summer to do things around the house, but struggle when the school year starts. If you have any tips, suggestions, or systems that have worked for you when it comes to planning, etc. I would love to hear your thoughts.

I’m accustomed to keeping my students’ IEP folders in my classroom & being held responsible for their safekeeping. Hi. I am a Transition teacher in California. I would like to know what is the ratio of students to staff for community outings in your districts? I have been teaching in my district for 20+ years and it has always been 4:1 ratio for our moderate/severe transition classes. Now our director is saying it's 6:1 and I don't feel like this is safe for our students.
