Typically language/stack-driven. Broad “apply everywhere” approaches tend to dilute fit and interview performance. Focused targeting usually yields better response rates and alignment.
Apply for the jobs that are as good a match as you can. I have just applied for any job, but you’ll generally have a better experience with a language and skills match.
That’s smart. Only applying to the “perfect” fit roles doesn’t exactly do much for you to expand skills.
Right now, I am applying to any and every job. I have been looking for a new role for about eight months now and have only had two interviews total. I would apply for anything you can find in this job market.

Terrible situation to be in! Sorry to hear that. What have you tried yet? Maybe there is something that can be advised to put you out of this situation!
I guess I've been one to apply for a good match, but applying for everything also seems to be a wate of my time as well.
Most developers focus on roles that match their core stack but stay open if the fundamentals transfer well. Strong problem solving often matters more than a specific language.
