Yep, it’s not that uncommon. With poc there is always a quiet presumption of incompetence
Yes, they do. Always. They often need to be reminded of your creds. If yours exceed, remind them bc their disrespect will get out of hand.
Or they are intimidated by you definitely by their own insecurities
Yep common
Your perception is your reality
A senior associate lectured me twice recently on the importance of meeting deadlines. I did miss a deadline, but literally only because another (white male) associate in the same year as me didn’t hand in his section on time, which the senior associate knew. I was like 1) obviously any associate knows the importance of deadlines—why are you talking to me like I’m an idiot who doesn’t get it? and 2) why ME when I wasn’t the one who was late???

Right—perhaps because the other guy is considered to be in the “in crowd” and is protected. I was told later that “mistakes” are forgiven for certain favored people (usually white men). Making you responsible for the other associate’s errors seems to be a classic scapegoating move. I would absolutely document the pattern of errors by the associate as part of your memo to file, and the shifting of blame to you by the supervisor. They’re both in the wrong here.
Also, the supervisor may be looking for things to add to your file, if he/she and others are interested in pushing you out.

It may be common but you shouldn’t accept it. Look elsewhere or perhaps explore starting your own practice. It sounds like you’re ready.
Yep, this is common
