Yes IBM agree, the question I have is Muslims are still sticking strong then why should we be ashamed . Not a competition , against I respect the others .
That unity we lack. Good for them. We must learn.
I personally think that the Tamil Brahmin upbringing is very distinct and different from other Tamil groups. We therefore have this sub culture that only we each other can fully relate to - be it our cuisine, accent, rituals etc. Unfortunately the grouping is driven by a caste and I wish that wasn’t the case. If you wrote something with a tamil Brahmin accent in a tamil group, you will be made fun of. There is a also a good chance that they will single you out and bully you too. I joined this bowl recently and I haven’t seen anyone bash any other caste or religion. I am here because this seems like a place that celebrates the tambrahm culture and that’s pretty much it.
I am a lefty liberal and I don’t take pride in being a Tamil Brahmin because it is not something that I earned but at the same time people can’t force me to be ashamed of being a Tamil Brahmin with or without privilege. What I hate the most is this elitist insincere so called liberalism that people like TM Krishna spout out. The other group of people who claim to be liberals are these DMK DK groups and their supporters. They are leftists the way Nazis were leftist.
Fair, the people left behind in this group will all say fair. It’s the 50 odd people who left this group immediately that you need to ask this question. I am a proud tam brahm, doesn’t mean I perpetuate casteism or negativity towards others. After seeing all Tamil movies and the extent of Brahmin bashing is how I realized I can be proud without spreading hatred towards others.

Well said, I am proud of my roots too although I have definitely branched out :)
Feel proud as a hindu brahmin, but at the same time respect other religions and their ways as long as none of these (including us) put anyone down. By far Brahmins and Islamists are the targets for negative publicity though i have personally seen wonderful and real a**holes in both.

Mmkr as in michael madana kama rajan? Watched more than 25 times. Same with panchathanthiram
Nobody bashes about anybody. If at all we bash ourselves and there are couple of anti-brahmins or brahmin cops in this group. We can ignore them
Yes. Have the name tambrahm for an online group and people lose their minds! Meanwhile, there are people in other castes tattooing their caste names on their forearms and making caste anthems!
