As an HR professional, it’s frustrating to qualify for a role, interview well, and still not get a chance. Companies sometimes expect candidates to already know every internal process before day one. HR is transferable — if you know compliance, employee relations, recruiting, and onboarding, you can learn the company’s systems and processes just like anyone else. Give people a chance to grow.

I think you are absolutely right. We learn through experiences

I agree with this. I have noticed companies sometimes hire for zero learning curve, which feels unrealistic. Strong HR skills transfer, internal processes can be taught.

I feel this. I have seen companies expect someone to walk in already knowing internal systems and culture. HR skills are transferable. The company specific stuff should be teachable.

I’m looking for transitioning to a Product manager profile from current Product Owner profile. What are the typical interview questions I should prepare?

Though I’m SAFe PMPO certified, I believe any company would ask for hands on experience as a Prod M. What can I do to bypass that as my current org doesn’t have any Prod Manager opportunities.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated. This transition really means a lot to me and I seem to have hit a wall here

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
