I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. Interviewing at a dream company, and right from the first interview the recruiter told me we are way off on salary expectations. This was a little bit expected, as the role is requiring a few years less experience than I have and also in a much cheaper market. They already told me the salary range during this first call, but wondering if they like me enough and I get an offer, how I might approach negotiating for more. I would be making much less than I do now, but it is a dream company.
