How do you attract and retain mid-level talent when industry / FAANG pay so much more than MBB?
For those applying to schools in round 1 and round 2: are you sending thank you cards / gifts to your recommenders now or after they submit the round 2 LORs?
My fabulous legal assistant is leaving at the end of the year to focus on her mayoral campaign. I live in a very rural area & there are no legal assistants around. Everyone applying have just worked at hospital as assistants. I don’t have time to hold their hand. I need someone running from the start. My friend moved back to the area and she is interested in becoming a paralegal. Any tips/suggestions on what sites, online education, etc to refer her to. I’m at the point of hiring a virtual asst.
Hello Bainees 🐠 I was invited to attend a Bain London “Curious about Consulting” event 2 weeks ago, after a CV submission, and given particular timeline to apply and interview dates. And I have strong reason to apply to London (used to work and live in London, currently based in Paris) On the other hand, a good friend who is a Manager at Bain’s Helsinki office is willing to refer me to Bain’s Stockholm office. I have sponsorship from my consulting firm (tuition, requires 3 year commitment, definitely does not pay like MBB/T2). I got a 60k scholarship from Kellogg, should I just consider making a move to MBB/T2?
In case H1B gets denied (I hope that doesn’t happen), what countries have you considered moving to besides Canada. Indian national and pending transfer to MBB if that helps.

I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?

Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.
I haven’t seen this out there, but it came up in my college class; don’t record your Zoom sessions if there’s any interaction with students. It violates FERPA.
