At a crossroad, should I leave public for a financial analyst role (70-85k) at a bank? I am about to get the senior title this year.

The senior title should bring you similar pay, so double check how you feel about the differences in lifestyle, people, culture, promotion opportunities, work satisfaction, etc

70-85k is a huge range. Leaving PA as an associate for a 70k job would be idiotic. Brave the storm.

Um no. You should be making more than that in the next year or so. I made senior 6 months ago and am at $73k so should be at $80k in another 6 months easily. Don’t be so short-sighted. The raises in PA can’t be beat

Stay in public. Nobody will take you seriously until you get the senior title.

Depends on where you live and what the COL as far as the salary is concerned and weighing whether it’s worth it. The bottom line is that there are plenty examples of people being successful going both routes. Is banking something you are interested in long term?

You’ll be giving up so much money if you leave now. Stick with it

Take it if you can negotiate a good salary, among the other things of course like culture, hours, etc. PA will always be there if you want to go back.
