I have a question, fellow bowlaz! I work in a small advertising agency in Oslo, Norway, and we struggle to get in contact with international ad media such as Adweek (Ad Freak) and Ad Age whenever we want to show off our creative work. Does anyone of you have a way in, or tips on how we can get in contact with media outlets like these? Cheers

Most of the kids here don't know what a dot matrix printer is.
What are you talking about?
The government requires the information printed on the page to be in the possession of the flight crew. It doesn't require dot matrix printers. As others have said, they're used because of their reliability, the high cost of replacing a fully functional printer at every gate, and the convenience of keeping all that paper in order.
Airline employees often use the crutch of "it's an FAA regulation" to explain stuff they don't know the answer to or don't want to spend the time explaining the details.
Keep sniffing those highlighters
I know what a dot matrix printer is. But I also know the government doesn't require it for any aviation purpose.
🔼 would you please tell the gate agent and pilot who told me that's why it's done?
D1 being around gate agents can definitely be a harsh condition
You can still buy the printers they use at the gates new and have the same kind of fun at home!

It's good, but you have to tell me what it sings. What does it say and why does it sing it's song?
The reason they are used is that they are a fraction of the cost of modern technologies. They also don't have to collated or stapled, which can be a problem if dropped.
They’re also extremely reliable, especially in harsh conditions.
OY1 makes total sense 😎
