Define financially “set.” I mean if I got laid off today, I could survive retirement. But I plan to work around 5 more years to get more saved up and to feel more comfortable. I also have some inheritance money coming, but I’m not counting on that cause you never know.
65 in 6 months and so ready!
Depends who I marry
This is one of the greatest predictors of success. Good answer.

To any young folks on here, save as much as you can as early as you can…
They might save for anything that comes up, but never enough to stop working.
Wait you guys are retiring?
I feel like any answer I give to this question would be jinxing myself. Both of my parents did reasonably well for themselves in their early careers, but ended up going through their retirement funds out of necessity after being laid off and being unable to secure full-time employment in their fields again. I’m sure they both thought they’d be able to retire with decent cushions.
Maybe the grass is always greener? I think that they would both prefer to have struggled more in their 20s and 30s but been able to catch up in their 40s and 50s, rather than struggling now in their 60s when they are deemed to be too old to be hired back into their fields.
When I say that they were reasonably successful, my mom raised us and was probably making around 65-80k in tech in the early 2000s, which was fine at the time and would’ve continued to go up if she wasn’t pushed out.

i could retire tomorrow, but i’d have to die this year, or win the lottery!
67 if I’m lucky?
I’m aiming for 65 as soon as I qualify for Medicare. But won’t collect SS till 67
Based on inflation, I can probably retire when I turn 143 years old. But that’s only if I cut back and save 50% of my income.
Most likely never. I only started making good money this past 2 years.
I'm 34 lol
What boa jobs are hourly? Aside from tellers, which I know don't make that much. Generally curious. And congrats on the career progress!

How much $$ is “enough”?
Probably 5-10 years after I die
40 - I was aiming for a bit earlier but life happened in the meantime and there were some unforeseen ups and downs.
That's not reasonable. To be honest, when you are forced to stop working due to health conditions, and you need to sell the house to pay for the mortgage, closing costs, and 1st & last months to the assisted living facility, then you might call that 'retirement'.
