Define financially “set.” I mean if I got laid off today, I could survive retirement. But I plan to work around 5 more years to get more saved up and to feel more comfortable. I also have some inheritance money coming, but I’m not counting on that cause you never know.
65 in 6 months and so ready!

40 because I will go back to my home country which is a way more cheaper to get by.
I think I can probably retire in 5 yrs (I will be 55), but I know I will be too bored if I retire too early.
Maybe by 44 for me as I will win the lotto in a few days now! besides that maybe about 60 when I am ready to retire and not be bored in a few months after retirement.

At this rate of inflation and growing US debt, what amount do you need to retire by 2045?
at least 42 Trillion in 2045 dollars
45
45-50 hopefully
50 is a good one
The key is cash flow. I should have enough to cover my current life costs by about 45. Doesn't mean I'll stop working then but I'll have the freedom to do so if i want.
These days, when you win the lottery, have enough dead relatives that make you their beneficiary, or you sold your big home and downsized to a smaller one that you paid in full and own completely, then you can provided that you can work part-time to secure funds for the upcoming hospital bills, and paid in full your funeral costs.

Apparently 40! Just pulled the trigger…😬😬😬 May do some additional paid work at some point but am retiring from banking.
Yes it pays well but there is constant pressure to bring in new clients and assets. What it’s like can vary a lot group to group I think. Some teams are huge and decades old, others are small and new. YMMV but I’ve had a good experience. People are way nicer and more collaborative than I expected.
I’m trying to retire by 35 latest
Lol, best of luck
