I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.
Hello fishes.
I was reached out by a Microsoft recruiter yesterday. And I told not interested in the position. Now I feel little bad may be i should have given the interview. Can I reach out to the recruiter again ?
PS: it's been only 6months since I joined in the current company

Never. But if you are an experienced hire and have what it takes to work here, cracking a case is a cakewalk and the least of your concerns in the interview process.
But seriously…The real other things are track record of impact, track record of leadership, track record of standing up/breaking rank when appropriate - and of course your ability to tell those stories and sell your personal brand.
Casing ability lies at the core of what we do, even at the MDP/partner level. Doesn’t make sense to stop interviewing for that.
Seniority might decrease the level of scrutiny around casing technique, but the interview will remain.
Roughly +5 years consulting experience at another MBB, or lateral partner hiring

I just did cases for an Associate Partner interview at McK with 8 consulting YOE
All in all, I think that’s a solid exchange rate for YoE compared to other direct AP hires I’ve seen
I don’t know of a level that doesn’t case. Principals an PLs I know that came in laterally (including myself) all had case interviews. I had 4.

I was told by a partner, unless you’re coming in from another consulting shop your only entry is going to be associate (rarely EM). You will be casing in that case. For reference I’m 10 years into the industry and was told to case up
Always case up, at all levels
Case up, bro. Should get some neon tank tops with that printed on it. Rock it with some KPMG branded kicks.
What’s the point of stopping doing it? They never stop. I’m in the process with a competitor for an AP role and I had 3 case interviews so far (they are not checking my maths skills, but my structure and problem solving skills).
For BCG all levels except maybe Managing Director & Partner (ie equity partner) - I’ve never interviewed for the latter so I can’t speak to that. But I do lateral interviewing for all other levels and there is always a case.
