I just started investing. It's not much but I have direct deposit into a 401K. I still have lots of debt and am paying a certain amount each month but I feel I really need to start investing. I have been putting in $100 month into my emergency fund. Once I save $3,000, I will probably put more of my money into investments.
I've always done minimally my company's match, even with student loans and other debt. First company was 3%; current is much better. It was an easy decision for me when rates are low and an 8% average return beat the low consolidated rate my loans are at.
That's the struggle I have now - no where will I get a return as high as the interest rate on my loans
Ive been investing here and there since I was 18 but its honestly something I really need to get etter about.
