yes, my biggest gift to my parents is to be successful beyond their dreams for me. I did that for them before they died. I was lucky enough to have a job that let me fly home and take of them when they were dying, my father of cancer and my mother of COPD. They were happy for me, knowing they could die in peace knowing I could take care of myself and my siblings. My father was a welder, my mother cleaned houses, hotel rooms, sold Avon, anything to bring in money to send us to the best schools. Each of my siblings put themselves through college, including myself.

Put money away for their old age. It’ll be sooner than they, or you, think.

yes. I’ve already made a commitment to myself that i’ll ensure they never have to worry about finances for the rest of their life

I haven’t gotten a single nibble on my remote in-house applications. Are there certain states that living there would make me an automatic no? I typically nap 2-3 times a day for 15-30 minutes with 7-8 hours of sleep on average!

I also nap when I’ve been doing mentally intense work / feel emotionally tired

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.
