I don’t think the shooting was justified. I’ve watched the video over and over. It’s all about how police officers approach and engage. I would like to understand why their guns were drawn in the first place. All officers had their guns drawn and two hands on their weapons. To me this was their mistake. They had time to apprehend him before he reached his car door if they weren’t holding the guns on him. By drawing their weapon the only response they had was to fire. It’s troubling that police officers are shooting people to “stop them” as opposed to an actual threat. Had they not drawn their weapons they could have restrained him and arrested him (if there was cause). It’s the judgement to pull your weapon that is the issue. Why is it pulled so early on black people. Why do officers use other restraint tactics on white people. No one is asking for preferential treatment. Just the same treatment. It’s glaringly different and very troubling. In this case Jacob could have been easily apprehended without a shot being fired. If three officers can’t apprehend one man without shots being fired they shouldn’t be police.
Meanwhile...not a shot fired in the incident below. Again no one is asking for preferential treatment just fair treatment. There is no way this would have gone the same way if the aggressor here was black. https://www.facebook.com/100010951958860/posts/1168575716850816/?extid=9IOGIDgwodCOSb2K&d=n

How is it justifiable to shoot a man 7 times in the back in front of his children?
