Bain is fratty isn’t accurate. Bain is super supportive, best culture between the two. Very good work work and more PE opportunities if that’s you’re thing. Best of luck!
Huh says you’re not available to DM for some reason!!
Rising Star
I’ve heard BAIN has the best WLB and culture of the MBB. Therefore, I would go there.
Take both since it’s a wfh environment.
Test them out for a few weaks, get a feel for the culture and then make a decision.
*here
I have nothing to help, but congratulations! as you navigate this decision just remember that there is no wrong choice. 99% of people would die to have just 1 of those opportunities. It’s a stressful decision but a good problem to have. Good luck!
Thank you :)
BCG is incredibly strong in ANZ - we are firing on all systems and you’ll have a chance to work in basically any PA you like. I’ve been here for 5 years and am lucky to have made lifelong friends, including many that I’ve travelled overseas with. Also had a sponsored MBA and a transfer to the US system
The amount of lies here is quite astonishing.
1. I went to W for my MBA and I can tell you they were many sponsored from Bain there.
2. True on the women managers percentage, Bain is lower at 24% vs 26.5% for McK vs. 29% for BCG.
But I’m wondering why BCG1 didn’t mention the other stat in this report, which is the female percentage for consulting staff. BCG lowest at 41% vs 48.5% for McK vs 50.5% at Bain, i.e. much higher than BCG, who are not even close to parity.

Heard Bain has the best culture. People seem to feel supported and genuinely love it
I had offers from both. Go with whichever people you feel most comfortable with. Ask yourself who you want to get a beer/coffee with on a Sunday afternoon - whichever feels like a better fit is where you should go. You work long hours and will travel every week with teams, and the nature of the work is basically the same. Thus, it’s all about who you do the work with
People from both have been lovely, hence the struggle. But thank you :)
If you have zero gut feeling, and offices /offers being equal, go with whoever was nicer to you in the interview. Or out another way, whichever firms interviews you felt more comfortable.
Bain if you want to exit to private equity later, more due diligence work
I have heard that BCG's PIPE division is growing quite fast however?
Bain 💯

It's close to being bmb where the first b is bcg
Lol no. Although McK is definitely bleeding after their opioid debacle
Bain
Consider the strengths of your office (e.g. consumer goods, financial services, PE, digital...), what industries and type of work are you more interested in?
I'm pretty open to anything and in my geo area, it seems pretty evenly split!
Depends on geo and your industry preference as well as how long you want to do consulting. However, BCG will promote you faster (2 years as an A not 3), pay you more, and if it’s of interest is more likely to get you to equity partner because we’re growing a lot faster.
When I joined about 10 years ago BCG was a 3b company and Bain around 2b. Today we are a 9b company and they are around 4.5b That comes with serious implications for getting promoted to equity partner (many more slots in a rapidly growing firm). So again what’s the lie? I’m already an equity partner at BCG - no one who joined Bain around me from my school is despite the fact that a number are still at Bain today.
