Anyone have insight for WilmerHale?
Specifically, I'm interested in knowing:
1. The culture across the firm
2. Whether associates are (or can be) hired in offices that don't have a presence for their intended group (e.g., if I could work out of LA for the IP group, which currently does not have any attorneys in the LA office)
3. What the culture is like in the LA, SF, Palo Alto offices
4. Culture in the IP group, specifically patent prosecution
Thanks in advance!

I love the idea of working in venture capital or start-ups, but cannot stand the people. I find the culture extremely performative, and the people incredibly self-important.

Do you things were better when celebrities had strict marketing and media teams? Coonye's latest rant made me think about this. I mean celebrities have always said out-of-pocket things but I feel like in the 90s and 2000's it was less frequent. Maybe it isn't a great idea for every famous rich and powerful person to be able to share whatever they want whenever they want in 240 characters or less.

Additional Posts in School Climate and Culture
Happy Wednesday! I am trying to plan with our AP and climate lead on what we can do in distance learning as a school wide event. I suggested we still host our multicultural club assemblies on zoom for the school. Anyone have experience with zoom assemblies to promote a positive climate in DL? Thanks!
I work in the Title IX area, and would love to hear from anyone who is working with students dealing with sexual or other kind of harassment between students, and how to improve that climate.
The hostility on my team is rough. We have a yeller. I walked by her room the other day. She was screaming across the room at a student, "you have to be kind to get kindness." Seriously, those were her words in a loud, berating, angry tone. Our admin has asked that we not report these. We are to talk to the teacher. She has yelled at me and other adults. Admin has to know she treats the kids this way too. One teacher has to work with her door closed to not hear the yelling all day.

Our district is so lax on the students this year. With tech issues and distance learning days, we’ve gone from accommodating to enabling real quick. No penalties for late work, taking excuses for attendance, lower academic and behavioral standards... We were beginning to make so much progress on transforming our school culture, but this year is erasing that and then some. Is anyone else concerned about how to raise the expectations and students’ self-discipline back to pre-enabling levels?
Anyone have success creating a positive school culture without much support from the administration?

Have teachers lay out specific criteria for what they want student work to look like. Be transparent about data with the kids. Have them set specific goals based on that data and set up a system for monitoring it. Celebrate growth. Shift from basic comprehension questions to higher order thinking questions. Make sure lessons require students to do the heavy lifting
