CPA been with PwC for one year, 8 years total in PA. I enjoy provision prep and my only exposure to it is with PWC. I’m thinking I want to be the corporate accountant, or financial analyst or whatever for one set of books (ie, industry) instead of jumping around to multiple clients. Should I stay the recommended 2 years, or pursue that industry role where I can focus on one company or just stay with PwC where I currently have the best WLB ever?

Just completed my last shift in the ICU. I'm glad to be shifting back to the Maternatity ward. It was exhausting, and emotionally draining working with such sick patients. I know the work we did made a big difference, but I'm glad to go back to my favorite role!

I started a position a month and a half ago at a large holding company. My manager left after 2 weeks of training me, and his replacement is likely going to be another senior accountant. I am so lost and don’t have the guidance I had signed up for. Is it bad to ask for an internal transfer to one of the brands instead?

Expecting an offer this week or early next week, but want to know when you start negotiating the salary? When you receive the call from the company or wait until receiving the formal offer letter? And how should the negotiation start? Through phone calls or emails? Didn’t use recruiter for this position, so I don’t know what is the process here.

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
