What’s an advertising club? Let me know so I can avoid it.
+1000
1. The One Club for Creativity — 10/10
The industry heavyweight. Hosts The One Show, celebrates real creative excellence, and offers legit career-boosting programs like Young Guns and portfolio reviews.
2. The AD Club of New York — 8/10
Corporate credibility meets solid networking. Less creative glitz, more brand and media access; ideal if you’re climbing agency ladders or schmoozing clients.
3. AIGA New York — 7/10
Designers’ playground. Valuable if you’re in branding or visual identity, but less central for ad creatives unless you’re visually focused.
4. Creative Mornings NYC — 6/10
Inspiration over industry. Great for meeting cool people across creative fields, but not specifically ad-focused and has more of a TED-lite vibe.
5. SoHo House / NeueHouse / Other Members-Only Clubs — 5/10
Where the whisper deals happen. More about the scene than the substance—helpful if you’re selling an image, less so for actual career development.
6. ADC (Art Directors Club) — 4/10
Former legend turned side brand. Lost distinct identity after merging into The One Club; now mostly a nostalgic shell with occasional relevance.
@R/GA, just to clarify on the Art Directors Club: they used to be a member organization with programming and an annual awards show, but after the merger, the awards show continued under the ADC brand but their programming became part of The One Club programming.
For example, the two One Club programs you mentioned -- Young Guns and Portfolio Night -- were both Art Directors Club programs that became One Club programs.

The One Club is great even for those of us who are not in NYC.
