Seeing how 401k’s, ira’s etc..are mostly based in stocks. What happens if we have another Great Depression and the stock market crash’s. Even if you have Real estate investments, if ppl can’t pay rent like with Corona, that’s not really helpful. So what are other ways in addition to those mentioned is there to help secure you into old age?

I have offers from Amex and GS with similar Fixed component but the joining date of GS is two months after my last day in the current organization whereas Amex joining date is immediate. Should I wait for GS date or go ahead with Amex?

My American citizen 8 month old is on tourist visa in India; current stay runs out on June 7. Flying outside the country is a risk we don’t want to take w/COVID. Don’t want to overstay the visa either. So we applied online on eFRRO to convert his visa to X-1 so we can apply for his OCI. Is moving from Seattle worth it? I've heard the freeze is still in affect in Portland but I'm more worried about prices. I WFH mostly and pull down like 120k a year, Seattle is getting crazy expensive rent wise and crazy full. I'd like to find somewhere new but stick to the PNW.
