Genuinely curious - how do you measure performance of MBB recruiters when there’s a line out the door of highly capable people who would do anything to join?
Are the KPI’s more centred around success rates of new hires (e.g. tenure and progression) rather than the usual KPI’s for recruiters (such as speed of placement, number of placements etc)?
Actually there are no numbers attached to recruiter at McKinsey. There are hiring targets for each cell, but the recruiters are evaluated on 360 feedback from hiring teams, recruiting teams, and other stakeholder. Recruiters are expected to be talent advisors and bring thought partnership around talent attraction, assessment and cultivation.
I wish that the recruiting at McK was that simple. Given the fact that the firm is targeting cream of the talent available, and as PwC one mentioned below, 99% of the applications are not a fit. Also, a lot of the new profiles that McK hires (tech, analytics, design) doesn’t have the same brand as consulting.
