I can tell you about Roche and from what I heard it's the same across the industry: awful. Do bare minimum (say "no" only if the business proposal really manifestly breaks the law), never complain, dismiss any complaints, never open investigations. You will be hated and isolated and not protected from retaliation (unlike in Finance where compliance is regulated by law). You will get terrible feedback if you attempt to actually do your job which will reflect on your bonus. Stick to drafting SOPs, little monitoring and whatever you find priblematic in monitoring don't report, do an education instead. Hope it helps.
Also at Roche: my friend was in a market compliance role and what LC1 says is true.
Business complained about them as “not supportive enough” and boy did their bonus and performance evals take a hit because of the “lack of a collaborative mindset”.
Interestingly this is not my experience at my company. Though we are totally overpaid for the amount of work we do.
