To elaborate: my project keeps me at 100% utilization and I have no reason to believe I will be leaving the project anytime soon. My team and I have a great relationship with the client
Youre fine
I was in Deloitte last year and they laid off people on projects and some people on the bench remained. This is because they code to consider previous year’s performance and not current year’s performance or utilization.
So you are as much in water as the rest of your colleagues as you don’t know what parameter the firm finds politically correct
You’re okay.
If you are a good performer and they aren't looking for an excuse to get rid of you, I would say you are 99% safe.
It varies from firm to firm, but typically at Deloitte all employees are gathered together in a room and two names are drawn from a hat. The two employees strip down to their shirtsleeves as the remaining employees form a circle around them. The office Managing Director hands both of them a Ka-Bar combat knife as their colleagues begin to chant “Red red blood keeps the partner pensions in the green.”
Once everyone is ready, the two chosen engage in a knife fight to first blood. The winner is given a choice, he/she may show mercy to his/her opponent, who will then be laid off, or may finish the job and be promoted to SM for demonstrating their commitment to the firm.
Unclear how COVID-19 will impact this process.
