When will the salary be credited in Optum.
Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA
Is the switching cost/risk and higher COL worth it?

It really isn't that important... EY people are just really loud. I wouldn't worry about it until you have the offer in hand and can ask the recruiter
Phone allowance is $150 every two years for a device and they cover the bill minus $20/month for "personal use"
Totally disagree. All else being equal between two options, the expense policy is extremely important. How much time do you spend as a consultant on the road, not trying to work for a stingy firm who wants receipts to verify a parking ticket and won't let me spend an extra $100/night stay in a nicer hotel when I'm busting my ass for them.
"EY people are really loud." Lol wow
1) don't want this to be a dick swinging contest but you are so out of touch with reality I don't know where to begin if you truly think EY and KPMG are not in the same tier lol. Outside of B4, nobody cares and it doesn't impact your exit opps, the specific groups, do. IF there was a tier system within B4, it's PWC and D 1 and EY and KPMG 2. 2) on an engagement w EY guys now who can't stay at a sheraton because it's "out of policy" ..... a sheraton. Enough said
EYs policy is consistently applied. KPMGs policy is subject to whoever is interpreting it above your level. Quite honestly if you travel a lot you can't beat EYs policy, even the revised one. As far as firms go your comparing tier 1 to tier 2, and that should determine your course of action. KPMG should never be your first choice in the big four.
No fitness subsidy so we're all fat
Also lol this guy from EY thinking EY is "tier 1".
Expense policy is there to reimburse you for "normal" expenses due to business activities including travel. Staying at a nicer hotel because you "bust your ass for them" is not a reason the firm or the client should reimburse for. You work hard and travel because that is the job description - if you don't like it, get out of consulting.
K expense policies rule. Per diem or actuals (your choice most of the time). I put through $100 of my $160 phone bill per month no problem ($20 out of pocket, $10 insurance, $30 device payment). No problem putting through lunch or dinner on local projects couple times a week.
He's talking about when local.
Id take that over arguing about $50 for a phone bill any day. Deloitte is 7 hours ++ business
If you were on my project and spending $100 bucks more a night at a hotel than everyone else we would talk about it. Expenses are usually a percentage of an engagement fee and when you spend to the max before the engagement ends you eat into profitability of the project and make partners happy. $100 bucks a night difference from you and the ref of the team adds up fast, real fast. That wouldn't be the expense team at dasc who talked to you about being reasonable with expenses it would be a lead. But on the whole personal KPMG expenses cell, per diem are all reasonable and any expense questioned you can update, dispute or accept an adjustment.
Expense policy shouldn't impact your decision to take a job. If so, you may want to reevaluate your priorities.
Parking**** not parking ticket
I feel like ey travel policy is pretty good .could be wrong
At the end of the day, it's about the net economic benefit of being with a firm. Think like a consultant and go with whoever most benefits your bank account in the short run AND long run. However, if brands are how you value yourself, stay at EY with with EY4.
The thing is, all else will never be equal OP...

What do you mean couple times a week? lol isn't dinner lunch paid for every single meal when traveling
