Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

What is the manager range at KGS?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

How much yearly hike can one expect at Société Générale ?
"Depends on performance" seems to be a very vague answer.
Can someone please elaborate on a better answer.
Also, Can someone shed some light on promotions?
Is there any policy, like you have to work for X years to be eligible for promotion etc.
Thanks in advance.

It is not at all less technical. Frontend development is much more than html css js
I think there is no need to worry. Frontend is going to be there for a long time. Software needs a frontend so that the user can interact with it. The future may be AR screens, even then some kind of front end will be needed and on the other hand, one can contribute a lot as a frontend developer. If one joins in a newly created product, they can contribute to the foundation itself. If one joins later, a lot of refactoring can be done. Develop reusable customisable unit-tested components.
