Can you provide advice to succeed/survive on the corporate client side?

Moved away from agencies to corporate and it is SOUL SUCKING. Between the lack of flexibility (both personally and day to day), sterile environment, and millions of meetings a day I am going insane.

The pay and benefits are dramatically better in this corporate role, but I won’t lie I am missing the freedom of agencies so much right now.

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

Started my new job today! I’m joining a late stage startup coming from a more mature company, and am noticing a lotttt of documentation debt. I’m coming in as Staff/Lead, and want to eventually move into management in 1-4 years. If I spend some of my first two week block updating and creating documentation for future devs, will that be seen as working hard or wasting time? It feels like a good use of my time to me….

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!

I got an offer from Infosys Bhubaneswar with 9.3lpa, technology: Office 365.
My hometown is Kolkata.
Hybrid model is okay for me if it is Bhubaneswar as my in-laws won't allow me to move to a different city. Problem is opportunities are very less in Kolkata and TCS won't hire ex- employees. Should I switch to Infosys or stay back in TCS..

Can someone please for the love of god help me figure out how I can pay less income taxes? I only make 88k and I put the 12k standard deduction but I’m still getting taxed 27% of my paychecks!
