Career question. I have 2 years of experience in advisory at Deloitte and a year of experience as a Business Analyst at a bank. I’m 4 classes from being CPA eligible, was a business major in undergrad and have a masters in info systems. I want to know would that experience count, and when should I pursue accounting roles. I’m thinking audit over tax maybe but still unsure. Thanks !

Is it bad if I already find myself disliking my job 1 month in? Did anyone feel this way at first and then grow to like what they do?

Curious what others think about this: a friend of mine has a couple of months of leave this fall to study for the CPA exam (they’ll be paid a reduced salary during their leave), but they mentioned they have no intention of studying for the exam, and instead plan to use that time to look for another job. This rubs me the wrong way, but wanted to hear what others think…

Is it weird that I feel less technically knowledgeable after a year and a half of audit than when I graduated? I just started a technical accounting job, and there are glaring gaps in my knowledge of basic stuff I knew during college. I just never saw it in audit.
