It can't hurt to try again. Review what went wrong and adjust your strategy. When you feel you have a new approach that will work, contact them and ask to meet again. Acknowledge how the last pitch was not done properly but you have worked hard to address their concerns and want another opportunity. Hopefully, they will give you another shot at it. Address the feedback and come back with an updated recommendation. And/Or, defend parts of the recommendation that you feel are still sound once you’ve thought through the feedback meaningfully.
Nobody expects you to get all the way right on the first draft. Even if this presentation went poorly, everyone will respect your efforts to take it on the chin and move forward.
Always try if the business is important to you. The worst case scenario if you try is the same as the definite scenario if you don’t.
Give them time to cool off, acknowledge your mistake and take it from there. Clients appreciate you being gritty, and if it’s an important client, get someone else to at least manage the first few conversations and then come in saying we took your feedback and here it is the revised timeline blah blah
