Columbia not close
As in go for CBS??
Anderson. You will end up with exactly same positions with the two schools. Only difference is you will need to pay back your loan at a very high rate (no low interest rate time any more thanks to FED) for a long period or stuck with MBB for more years than you expected if they pay back the loan for you.
Coach
Columbia is the stronger school, up to you how much the scholarship means to you vs the brand value.
McK BCG and Bain all hire at UCLA, look up the employment reports to see % of the class to compare how many percentage points you’re sacrificing for each dollar of scholarship money.
Also consider what recruiting pool you’re putting yourself in (UCLA student body vs Columbia student body). Columbia might have more placement but could be harder to get placement given your competition (impossible to quantify whether this is an advantage or disadvantage). Consider this cost benefit analysis as your first practice case.
It depends on you, but you might be better at Anderson, considering you’ll be saving money to get to the same job as Columbia students and might be MORE competitive in the Anderson pool, compared to Columbia. Both are great though! So it might come down to what interests you at what school, in terms of personal interests, classes, etc.
For your goals Columbia is the better choice. Also to consider do you want to be east coast or west coast based? Your goal is still attainable via Anderson, but will give you a more west coast-centric network.
Thinking about LA for full time office
Both are fine with me, but LA is my first choice
Congrats on the generous scholarship from Anderson.
Did you already get into CBS through rolling admissions? Curious because I know folks who submitted non-ED in September and just got invited to interview in the past few days.
Read in one of the threads here that the BCG NY office has about 20% of incoming MBA head count blocked for CBS, so maybe that’s the move for you

Congrats. I was in a somewhat similar position. Feel free to dm.
