I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?

At 2 YOE, you could go under $300k TC in PE
Or $160-$200 TC in tech
Other industries would probably top out around $120-140 TC on the high end

I’m basically in your shoes and would say this from what I’ve seen (keep in mind this is all in comp for non-technical roles, and is not including PE/VC which is a different game):
—$200k comp packages are top of market
—$150-200k would be a very good exit but is certainly doable, mostly with tech
—$125-150k is bottom of what you should hold out for and should be something you’re really passionate about to take
<$125k just don’t do it

Gotta be more specific. PE and big tech can be in the $250-300k+ range while a lot of other industries won't be able to match McK comp
I’d be surprised if that’s true for anything outside of product. Just thinking about LinkedIn because I know their comp and believe it’s comparable with FAANG, but their Sr Associate role (which requires 3 YOE) does not pay anywhere near $190-200k in cash. I think it’s more $175k all in.
Go PE or HF if you want the money.

Buyside roles - anywhere from 250 to 400k with 2 YoE is possible.

Headhunters, networking, cold outreach on LinkedIn. Have a strong story, and at least don’t seem like an idiot.
