I would announce it after the YE review. It's sad but better safe than sorry.
Also, people tend to wait till their 4-5 month to announce their pregnancy anyway.
Announce it after you receive your raise and bonus. I was in the same boat two years ago when being promoted to Manager.
The YE review will happen when I’m about 5 months pregnant.
Side note - probably time for a new job if you’re concerned about this. Not worth staying somewhere you can’t trust the people to do the right thing.

Nah milk the current job for mat leave then quit
I announced my pregnancy after end of first trimester and was due less than a month after promotion to manager effective date (so sounds like exactly the same as you). I’m close with my partners and work on a team with lots of mothers and people who have been on maternity leave recently, and I don’t believe I was the worse for it. Because I’ve got strong relationships within my team I knew they would fight for me, and PwC (and most firms) don’t want a lawsuit so they have policies in place to help prevent something like that happening.
I would announce it when you reach 3 months. Part of being a manager is able to plan accordingly with your team to ensure a successful transition when you are out. Your performance review is based on your past efforts and achievements- so their should not be bias in the results. I never felt that I was rated differently just because I was pregnant.
I really don’t think that would affect your raise and bonus at all. The people determining that are way above your CA so you could always communicate to a few people and not broadly. Either way this shouldn’t matter.
After. Still gives plenty of time to prepare your team for your absence and that way you have zero doubts
Thanks for all the insights, ladies! I’ve decided to wait. My group is great and most of the partners are supportive of working moms but I don’t know the other partners very well, so I don’t want to risk anything.
I’m the only one looking out for myself while the firm has a whole team of resources to lookout for them, so I think I’ll do what’s best for me rather than them. 4 months in advance is enough time for planning, especially for a new manager who don’t even have established clients.
Unless you are in the office now, what’s the rush? One of my colleagues announced hers at 32 weeks. I would’ve done the same. I was in the same boat but up for SM promo (and left for ML one week after being in the new role 😂) but unfortunately in 2018 you could only rely on loosely fitting clothes for so long. Trust me, it takes a week to transition everything (I’ve had two MLs).
