I teach k-12 vocal music at a school where I have/had a vision to improve the culture of singing (very sports focused small school) to build a choir program, which will take several years (2 years done). Been working diligently with my elem. music classes to create a climate where students are comfortable/willing to sing. I'm estimating 3 years to see middle school students buy in, and 5-6 years before my high school program sees any fruit of that labor. Stay? Move on?

Thoughts on leaving PA primarily due to the metrics based culture (utilization, dtc, use of X digital tool, revenue, margin, etc). I'll go first- last school principal with no musical training forces all 7th grade to do band and said in oreder to get them interested in playing an instrument I need to get in front of them and play every instrument for the students and talk indef about them each day. Meanwhile they would be popping in to make sure I'm teaching that way because I wasn't trusted 'to do as I'm told.'
