I’m a new analyst at a PE firm, and my associate keeps blaming me for things she does wrong. Like she will tell me I made the wrong change, even though she is the one who changed it. Or in calls with other people, she won’t take responsibility for things that she told me to do that the other person calls out as wrong. A new analyst has joined our team and we often give them models/ slides but don’t always ask them if they know all of the accounting principles to be able to make minute adjustments to EBITDA or free cash flow. We are a FIG platform, so the knowledge required is relatively unique as well and not as easy to google as corporate transactions.
