Hi can anyone tell me how is the promotion cycle and performance review in GS ? Like how many years it can take for 3 year experience Analyst joining laterally to be promoted to Associate in Compliance Division.

Promoted to Sr. PM six months ago with a slight raise (up 7% to $122k). Attempted to negotiate and gave a target of $130k but told they went as high as they could (and that the company is cheap). My manager has my back and is transparent. But with recruiters reaching out daily with roles at $150+ it’s hard to ignore feeling undervalued. I’ve brought this up directly and was told it will work itself out, but not until annual review. Do I need to go get an external offer to force the issue?

Has anyone had a positive experience from bringing in an offer from another agency to get a raise? Let’s say it’s a conversation where it’s talked about in a polite/non-threatening way

Negotiation help needed: Have an offer for about 50% more than I currently make. During application process they made you give your target salary. The offer on the table is $10k over my initial number AND during interview process they talked about fast career ascention opportunities (6 months or less). 1. I feel like I should negotiate bc that's the thing to do. 2. I also feel like I have no leverage bc they're already over my initial target by $10k and talking promotion in 6 months. Help!

What comp can we expect to target after 2 YOE? I’m not miserable in consulting but don’t think I get paid competitively. With my promotion in a month, I’ll be hitting 100k and I want to only leave if I can get 110k or more (going for strategy, PM, and a few startup roles). I am due for a promotion soon but due to COVID our company has advised no raises this year. I know our company faired better than expected but not to where we would be if it was not a pandemic. One of my big hang-ups with biden tax plan is raising corporate tax across the board. Why raise taxes on businesses when we've just found out how fragile it is to be able to run a small business?Why not at least propose some kind of progressive corporate tax structure if you want to raise taxes on corps?

How do you deal with a team member who is not a morning person? We have our team meeting and client meetings at 9:30 AM and they always sounds groggy and slow on the phone. It looks very bad in front of the clients. They look like they just woke up too when they occasionally turn their camera on. I don’t think 9:30 AM is unreasonably early but also don’t want to tell people how to manage their personal schedule. Any suggestions will be welcome!
