Sounds toxic, and sorry you’re dealing with that. Your PE fund probably cares about career progression if they’re hiring analysts, so I would say try setting up a meeting with the VP or whoever is her and your immediate superior. Don’t frame it as a tattle tale, but frame it so that you’re seeking guidance because you’re getting mixed feedback and want to make sure you’re developing correctly. Reference the email and the subsequent public call out by her and ask for advice on how you can get better (have the email printed as a backup). This will 1) flag the issue to them so that you can’t get thrown under the bus by her and 2) make it clear that you’re reporting this but being respectful / professional about it. Just make sure you’re 100% in the right or you risk looking bad.
If you ever get blamed in front of others say something along the lines of “Oh, I’m sorry, I thought we discussed this was the appropriate change to make, Associate, did I miss something?”
I’d speak with your Principal and inform him or her of what’s going on. This is unacceptable and you don’t deserve to be treated by some Associate this way.
Depends on your firm culture tbh... is she someone who’s receptive to feedback? Also how is performance measured? If she’s a big part of your review and she doesn’t take criticism well, then maybe best not to poke the bear

No advice to give, but I’m sorry to hear. Sending ❤️
Thank you! Really appreciate it
Sure thing! Oh I thought of something. Maybe try to get her to email you her “comments” so you can point to it if anything ever goes south
Yikes!
Coach

Don’t do this. This can start a long downhill snowball. Or at least word it nicely
I’d imagine that she’s floundering and hasn’t yet ramped up yet. She’s likely pushing her own insecurity on you
Thanks everyone for some solid advice!!
