Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

It’s not the best but its not worst either. Things have changed for good in last 2 years with new leadership onboard. Rapidly expanding in Gurugram and Pune. In current market conditions, job isn’t safe anywhere. But as the FNZ is growing, I haven’t seen any turbulence so far.
Lead Tes Analyst is offered at 8-10 years of experience range so you’re good there. Just know people generally post their negative experiences but don’t recognise when things go their way. The negative experiences you see for FNZ are few years old. That was the time when they had just started in India - teams were forming, product was evolving, lot of pressure to deliver and what not. Finance and HR operations weren’t streamlined but that’s how the operations start. Reach out to employees on LinkedIn and you will hear a different story today. Things are streamlined, Tier-1 clients, delivery focus, stream lined operations, opportunities to move left and right in the organisation. Interview experience has also seen a significant change. They got a new CEO from JPMorgan, CPO, CTO etc
But at the same time, it still runs on the money it receives from the investors. There will always be a pressure to turn profitable and get more profit margins by the investors. But as of today, it has become to big to fail kind of company in my opinion.
