Curious at an AmLaw 100 firm, what would be the salary for an associate with 3 years of experience? Interviewing and trying to garage the salary range.

I am a dentist and they expect me to have a knowledge of an MS.
Setting the bar of such great knowledge for INSURANCE!!? Like seriously.

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

How do you wind down after a rough day?

It is in appropriate to ask what the compensation for a position is after a first interview if they want you to go on three more and the interviewers on my first told me that was above their pay grade to tell me?????

For those who have clerked for a judge at state court, For a boutique sized law firm, what is the base salary you have gotten?

I’m so bad at writing the background/ facts section for briefs… it always gets heavily edited and no one is giving me constructive feedback other than “advocate more”. In contrast, my legal argument section is generally without edits. For context, first defense lit job post appellate clerkship. Is this normal?? Any tips for getting better other than “advocating more”?
