P5 It's almost as if all these organizations are really big with different people in different groups within the organizations having different expectations, timelines, and promotions!!! Wow!!!
Here’s a typical timeline for promotion at Deloitte Consulting:
Analyst: 1-2 years
Consultant: 2-3 years
Senior Consultant: 2-4 years
Manager: 3-5 years
At other Big 4 (KPMG/EY):
Associate: 1-2 years
Senior Associate: 2-3 years
Manager: 3-5 years
Senior Manager: xx
Thus, with the time (5-6 years) it takes to go from entry level to M at another firm, you would only be a SC through Deloitte. Heck, our requirement to come in as an experienced hire SC is 5 years minimum (or 3 year and MBA).
Duh. More money less responsibility
Raise + no sales targets? Welcome to Shangri-La my friend.
Yes it does
M1, no it doesn’t.
Yes it does. I’m at kpmg and I even know that sc at Deloitte is manager at other places
Deloitte SA = Manager at other big 4
C1, time =\= skill. “Many people” isn’t exactly a rock solid argument basis, btw.
How long do you plan to stay in consulting? If a few more yrs take the other job if jumping after a yr at M maybe stay
Wtf. 110 to 160? How?
@P2 It does in terms of pay. I’m a SC in D S&O and I have received offers from K and E for M level. Salary wasn’t much of an upgrade from where I’m currently at right now. I hear they also give out lower annual raises and bonuses, meaning that over time you could actually lose money.
But money aside, I’m still Hesitatant because I feel it’s a “downgrade” in brand. Over the long run, I’d much prefer to be at D.
Pwc doesn’t equal Deloitte in any way shape or form
9.75"
Yes.
D1- want to stay in consulting 4-5 more years
Same situation. Got a counter with salary match and promotion.
*SC
M1: fakenews. Don’t flatter Deloitte too much. Came from there. Almost want to say it’s the other way round but it may not be fair to paint the entire system with experience of a few incompetent Managers or excellent SAs
P2 it sort of does. It’s min 2 years BA, 2 as consultant before SC for another 2 years. Many people make manager in 5 years at pwc, some even 4
