Currently a senior accountant in Industry with a little over 2 and a half years in the current role. Small department so it looks like there is no immediate opportunity to move up at my current company. Should I try to lateral to another company for a shot at manager or just try to apply for manager roles now? Any advice/outlook is welcomed!

I came to US on an L1b in 2018 and switched to H1b in 2021 Oct. Current 797/visa expiry is stated as July 2023, by which I would have spent 1.5 years on H1b visa (and 3.5 years on L1b before that). Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range.
