You mean there are less than 8 boarding groups with united?
The clear benefit in my opinion is the United app... years ahead of the bs AA calls an app
Platinum. As a proud united gold status holder, the only benefit you get is they punch you a little softer.
Also, no same day change fee with United Gold. There is with AA Plat.
I think there's 4 or 5? But most importantly, there are clear lines for each group. None of this huddling around the gate BS.
M1 How. Please explain. You can't even choose seats without it launching into a webpage.
United points are easier to use, international travel in particular, and their boarding process is 10x better.
What's your home city and what do you want out of your rewards program?
UA has better value for your miles, better partners for the most part (definitely for Europe, Asia/Aus a bit of a wash, SA leans to OneWorld)
AA has a better hard product in business (with the exception of true Polaris on UA), better lounge access based on status (whole international itinerary vs. only legs departing the US on *A) likely more routes unless you're in SF/Denver.
AA actually has a younger fleet than UA or DL.
OP I think UA is the better choice then. I value UA gold higher than AA plat partly due to the same day fees. Definitely useful to have the flexibility
M1 has to be trolling
United over AA in a heartbeat. Only thing older than the AA fleet are their cabin attendants, 98% of whom are grouchy, bitchy and/or nasty. Unless you’re based out of an AA only hub, anything else is preferable!
Depends if you are near a United Hub, but they do have a newer fleet. most of the routes I fly are on AA's MD80s which suck.
Chicago based so both airlines would work. Definitely care more about international award flights compared to the other benefits
I find AA app much better than UA.
D2, thats not true anymore, seat selection is within the app. They finally got around to letting you view recent activity too. Still shitty but at least some of the basics are finally getting here
I always thought UA needed a better app because everything else about them is worse than even AA.
I’ve never been treated worse than by UA attendants, @E1. And the FAs on my current flight are mostly 30s... which is around as old as the UA fleet.
