Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

Any folks recently joined and received salary please confirm it.

I’m more so worried about ever getting to Partner since its a 1% shot but thanks for clarifying that once that easy line is crossed, I can get to McK!
It’s certainly not easy, but remember that not all of the 99% actually want it. My guess is that 30-40% of those who truly want it end up getting it because their passion and determination really show.
This topic is priceless and very motivating. Thank you my friend
Principle is a rule or guideline. Principal is a role.
Even if is deliverable, not the worst mistake that one could make.
I recently found an error in Harry Potter that unintentionally resulted in a hint that Voldemort is more ancient than Salazar Slytherin.
Nobody gives an eff if there are minor errors.
Below partner there were case studies, math problems, questions on motivation, questions on industry knowledge, how much you delivered or sold, and on and on.
As a partner, the process is VERY different. All interviews are with other partners who ask typically only two questions:
1) tell me your story and background (some probing or follow-up questions likely such as how many people, accounts, or sales)
2) why do you want to work for us and/or why do you want to leave?
Finally, anyone from a major firm can get a partner level offer at any other major firm. Don’t worry about MBB not taking you because you are at a Big 4, Accenture, etc.
Big 4 is unit based, MBB offer isn’t unit based. Yes I used the wrong “principal”... thank you for the judgement. The point of the post was make MD/Partner wherever you can and there is a high likelihood you can switch later...
You don’t have to say everything you know, especially on FB.
Difference in comp is difficult to explain... I would lose about a million in stock but gain a potentially big boost in income and pension, different tax treatment, etc. MBB is also still up or out whereas Big 4 is more long term.
Was comp more or less the same at both?
Hmmm... what is the expectation to provide value when you join? Do you need strong relationships and sales pipeline lined up?
Difference in comp?
Depends what group in big 4 as well as how many units OP was offered at each firm
MBB lateral hiring at partner level is mostly based on existing C suite connections . They give a generous cool off period because they know you can make use of those connections and make up for lost time in bringing revenue to the firm .
Keep in mind that if you join a big 4 company, you'll have many investment restrictions. Depending on how active you are in the market, this is a deal breaker for lots of folks. Congrats and good luck!
Congrats!!!
Congrats! Which offer are you leaning toward?
It’s hella difficult. Will see how it plays out and update the thread
OP, any updates?
