Currently work at Citi as an intermediate analyst in risk reporting and analytics, my team does the aggregation and reporting for CCAR submissions for counter-party credit risk, I also do management reporting covering SFT’s, DSFTs, etc. 2 YOE in total but feel like I’m getting underpaid in this area, what are some potential exit ops?

What do you do specifically? Any FP&A work? For reporting and data analytics you can easily switch industries, as skills are transferable. If you can grow your forecasting, variance analysis, and business partnering skills, FP&A could be good direction. For interview purposes, make sure you’re able to convey what you do for people who aren’t in the risk space (if you’re exploring other industries). Good luck!

Yes, definitely look at FP&A roles. Corporate FP&A roles tend to be heavy on variance analysis and roll-up reporting. FP&A Business partner roles also have variance analysis and data work, but often more strategic at higher levels (at least in my experience). You can also look at finance/data analytics roles. Try searching for roles such as FP&A analyst, Finance data analyst, Corporate FP&A analyst and see if any of those look interesting to you.

Thanks.
