My ultimate goal is to become a lawyer and i am wondering if its a good idea to try for a Senior Associate role in Mergers and Acquisition transaction services line to get an idea and to help my personal statement for my law school application to show i am already equipped with experience from accounting perspective in mergers and acquisitions which lawyers deal with a lot. I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
