Hahahaha I laughed out loud in my restroom stall. Put a body wash on his desk, with a note. He won’t know it’s you, but he will know it bothers people.
Do you remember the ad “Palmolive gold” and the tagline - don’t wait to be told?
😳👀👀 ::slides shoes back on:: I’m so sorry.
Talk to them about it. If your manager isn't doing anything and won't speak to them, speak to them yourself. It doesn't have to be awkward, just a simple, "hey man, I smell your socks from over there. Can we keep shoes on?"
I know it's uncomfortable, but I can't imagine ripping off the bandaid is more uncomfortable than being smothered by the scent of rotting feet lol
Is this a man or a woman?
As a woman (who bathes and washes her feet) I have in my younger days been guilty of this smell, but it was due to not knowing certain things about preventing the smell. If you think about bare feet sweating in closed toe shoes, it is only natural that some smell will develop. I learned that for one, sweat can take around 24 hours to evaporate so it is best to not wear the same shoes every day - give them a chance to air out by alternating between at least two different pairs of shoes at work (the same goes for all shoes, but wearing shoes with socks reduces the issue, not really possible for most women’s work shoes). Also, the more synthetic materials used in the very cheap shoes that I was able to afford at the time held onto much more of this odor. The better quality pumps that I have at my desk these days do not hold onto odor in the same way, but I still do not wear them two days in a row, I keep three pairs at my desk.
This person should, however, not be keeping their shoes off at their desk, that is very unprofessional
Yikes. I’d go to HR
