Hi. I'm a final year btech student, and I recently got an offer from PwC India for the post of Sr. Analyst, with the package of 4.5lpa fixed + some yearly performance bonus. How should I expect me to be my career graph in pwc? Promotions, work culture, work life balance, basically any kind of insight will be appreciated.
THANKS A TON, IN ADVANCE.

I was approaching month 5 before I could get proper freelance work. But things seem to finally be shifting a bit which is encouraging! During the summer, I connected with as many people as possible and developed skills I never thought I had! I ended up helping a few small brands building their visual guidelines and develop their look and feel despite doing a lot of tradition advertising before. You have to lean into who you know and find new people to connect with. It’s not easy but after that many months I believe you and anyone else can survive and thrive, if I did! Hit me up in the DMs and I’m happy to chat. This was the first time I freelanced too! You got this.
I was in your shoes I know it feels awful. But I have good news. Companies are afraid of commitment right now. Some have hiring needs but are worried about making a commitment because of the economy, election, covid, etc. So they’re filling the holes with freelancers. They don’t want a long term thing. They’re also weary of “new” people they can’t meet IRL that are fully WFH. They want an out. These are jobs that would usually be full time. You’re lucky that you got laid off- you can’t get most places right now unless you start freelance. Are you able to collect unemployment? Collect while using all your new free time to connect with people and let them know you got laid off. People want to know. They love a bit of gossip! They also love to help. You need to work your network because again, companies are weary of hiring new people during the pandemic. So a referral from a friend of a friend to a recruiter counts for a lot these days. Once you’re in somewhere, you can figure out how you want to proceed longterm. Freelancing is the best - try not to stress and enjoy it if you can. The next right thing will come.

Make connections via Linked In, but when you do you have the option to include a note - tell that person why. Network your butt off!
Chin up, and remember, this too shall pass. Above all, good luck; your idea for a venture is a good one :)

I’ve been freelance for a while and when the pandemic hit, I started my own company catering to building brand foundations for small companies. It kept my mind sharp and was more productive than networking while everyone got laid off. Also was able to collect unemployment. Then once things started picking back up in July, I got a gig doing exactly what I want to do and a bigger branding project. If it wasn’t for my new biz, I wouldn’t have been able to talk as confidently in my interview with the awesome freelance gig as I did. Best you can do is to keep moving forward. Leverage that Virgo / fall energy and stay open!
