Does anything actually change about the stock (eg. Shareholder rights) as a result of the split?
Or is it just to make it more accessible to small scale retail investors.

Just makes it more accessible. Although now that partial shares are a thing that’s also kind of a moot point.
Probably going to run up another 10% prior to split...then more after since all the retail investors with their stim checks are going to rush to grab more shares.
This is insane that people are commenting on these actually thinking they can confidently predict the stock price
If an event makes more people buy the stock the price increases. If the event makes people sell the stock the price decreases.
Corporate actions affects make people buy/sell.
This action makes the liquidity of the stock as you robinhood army of investors find it more accessible, whilst changing nothing in the fundamentals.
It should have a minor positive effect as it doesn't give anyone a reason to sell, whilst increasing the pool of buyers.
