I think my company has not so good insurance but that’s just compared to friends I know that work down at the docks/port.

I'm not really that concerned about things moving along during this time. If it happens, it happens. But I'm not going to stress myself out about it when half of my team is on vacation anyway.

We're starting to run into problems with being shorthanded, but that's just part of the season. Most everyone is in a good mood, which helps a lot. I suppose we're pretty well organized to handle the seasonal disruptions, but, it's definitely something you need to cope with as best you can.

Totally agree. December is a stress test. Missing handovers, unclear ownership, and “we’ll decide in January” are symptoms of systems that rely too heavily on people being constantly available. Teams that do best are the ones with clear decision rights, documented workflows, and fewer single points of failure.
