Can someone refer me to CITI ?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I’d go with VC, if only to try out living in a new city and the fact that it would be easier to move into an operating role from VC if it turns out to be not what you’re looking for vs the other way around
This is a tough one, and congrats on two amazing options. Your CoL adjusted comp will be way higher with the VC gig, but ultimately I think it’s a matter of what you enjoy doing. Those two options are VERY different jobs. VC is safer and pays more (a lot easier to go from VC to startup). But you need to be okay with sourcing and really love the deals mentality, and a lot of people hate both of those things.
I’m definitely leaning towards the VC firm, primarily because entry points into the buyside are so limited and as you mentioned it’d be much easier to find a startup role afterward than the reverse.
However, the VC position is a 2 year term, with no chance of promotion (I’d need some real startup experience and a better network to be a VP), and I’m a little concerned about my ability to survive and grow in this industry. Would that factor into your considerations at all, or would the worst case of going into VC still beat out the startup?
How did you get the VC associate offer? Any tips also are you at MBB?
By applying and going through many processes hahaha
